This action was a turning-point in the French revolutionary wars. This is one of four battle scenes painted by Vernet for the duc d’Orleans (later King Louis-Philippe) depicting French successes in the Revolutionary and Napoleonic wars. The other three are ‘The Battle of Jemappes’, ‘The Battle of Montmirail’ and ‘The Battle of Hanau’. They were damaged in 1848 but restored under the artist’s supervision.Oil on canvas,174.6 × 287 cm, 1826London, National Gallery.REFERENCEAKG1558359MuseumLondon, National GallerySourceThe National Gallery, LondonCrédit PhotoThe National Gallery, London / akgDate oeuvre1826Période19E SIECLE2E MILLENAIREFichier image4961px × 3223px (45 MB) 42.0 cm × 27.2 cm @ 300 dpiFormat spécial5197px × 3376px (50 MB) JPEG44.0 cm × 28.6 cm @ 300 dpiRestrictionsAutorisation obligatoire pour publicitéAjouter à la sélection: 'My First Lightbox'Ajouter au panierDownload
