Georg Kolbe (1877 - 1947)
After studying in Munich, Paris, Rome and Leipzig, the sculptor Georg Kolbe went to Florence in 1905 as the first scholarship holder of the Villa Romana. He had already moved to Berlin in 1904 and became a member of the Berlin Secession in 1905. His "Dancer", created in 1912, is one of the most famous works of art of the 20th century.
