Péter Eötvös
The Hungarian composer and conductor Péter Eötvös was born on 2 January 1944 in Székelyudvarhely (now Romania).
He was taught by Kodaly Zoltan at the Budapest Academy of Music until 1965. Then he went to the Cologne Music Academy.
Prior to his international career, Eötvös worked for several years at the Studio for Electronical Music of the broadcaster Westdeutscher Rundfunk and collaborated with Karlheinz Stockhausen.

In addition to his activities as a composer and conductor, Eötvös has taught at various music academies and still gives master classes today.
