Erich Lessing Fine Art
Born in 1923 in Vienna, Erich Lessing worked for publications such as Life and Paris Match and in 1951 he became a member of the photographers' collective Magnum. As well as being a successful photojournalist, he spent a lifetime photographing creative works and historical locations. The Lessing Photo Archive was founded in 1996 and a new photo gallery featuring exhibitions and vintage prints opened in Vienna in 2012.
His vast collection comprises over 25,000 colour images covering fine arts, archaeology, religion and architecture.
